INTRODUCTION
GAIA-X4PLC-AAD: Building a European Decentralized Data Ecosystem for ADAS & AD Validation
Carlo van Driesten | Systems Architect for Virtual Test and Validation | BMW Group
Content
Automotive OEMs and suppliers face growing challenges in developing automated and connected driving functions due to complex software-hardware integration and deep, data-driven supply chains. Efficient, traceable data exchange is crucial. Gaia-X4PLC-AAD leverages open, distributed data ecosystems to enable secure, regulated data sharing across the entire product lifecycle—from design to continuous virtual validation. By defining information models, data architectures, and processes, the project enhances trust, interoperability, and efficiency. Test environments for automated driving functions and sensors are integrated, with interfaces ensuring broader applicability across industries. We will present results from Gaia-X4PLC-AAD, a project funded by the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), which concluded in March 2025.

Asset Provision Workflow for Automotive Use Cases
Stephan Kussmaual | Managing Director | Triangraphics GmbH
Content
Today's automotive use cases require a variety of assets including HD maps, scenarios and 3D environments for simulation, testing, validation and certification. An asset provisioning and acquisition workflow has been established within the Gaia-X 4 PLC-AAD to enable asset marketplaces with large amounts of assets for a variety of test cases and scenarios. The data provider can automatically extract metadata according to the ontologies, create archives and upload to data platforms. End users get direct access to the data, including advanced search capabilities to meet very specific requirements.

ENVITED-X Data Space – securing simulation data quality for virtual product validation
Carlo van Driesten | Systems Architect for Virtual Test and Validation | BMW Group
Alexander F. Walser | Managing Director | Automotive Solution Center for Simulation e. V.
Reliable ADAS and automated driving (AD) validation depends on high-quality simulation data. The ENVITED-X Data Space provides a trusted framework to ensure data integrity, consistency and accessibility for virtual product validation. This presentation will cover key aspects such as digital identities for secure collaboration, domain-specific metadata and ontologies to standardize simulation data, and quality checks and labels to ensure reliability. It will also explore traceability and access control mechanisms to safeguard data integrity, along with governance frameworks that enable trusted data exchange for ADAS and AD development.
In contrast to the expo, participation in the
